Seattle’s big-time pubs set the scene for some scintillating fashion.

St. Patrick’s Day may have become one of the more gaudy holidays on the calendar. Green beads, leprauchaun hats and green beer might scream “Kiss Me, I’m Irish!” but they also exclaim “Highjacked by Hallmark!” As a contrast to such excesses, Sound set its March fashion shoot at two of Seattle’s largest Irish Pubs with the goal of revealing another side of these businesses while showing off enchanting Seattle fashion. We dressed model Marry Schroers in clothing from the Finerie and Wai-Ching Clothing and started shooting, the sturdy, ornamented surrounding of Kell’s and Fado setting the scene. While it might not be traditional Irish garb, the pieces chosen will assure that any Irish eyes—and those of any other nationality—will be smiling.
