heidi-fish.jpgSince as far back as she can remember, Heidi Fish has been a creator. She got her first sewing machine at age 3 and her grandmother, Henrietta, taught her to sew, starting with Barbie Doll clothes. By the time Heidi was a teenager, she was making outfits for herself and her friends.

Fish has also always been a water-lover, spending her childhood swimming and diving. So it was natural for her to lean towards the swimsuit industry. She was familiar with the market (same suit, different color) and wanted to bring something different to the beach. With that in mind she started Heidi Fish Designer Swimwear. The suit shop delivers timeless glamour and haute couture, combining classic fashion with cutting-edge originality. Fish’s suits are more than swimwear; they’re outfits; fashion statements that can be worn on or off the beach.

The mother of five began her business in her kitchen in 1999, designing, creating and selling from her home. Over the years she’s become known in the fashion world for her innovative creations and attention to detail.

Known locally through word of mouth, Heidi Fish Swimwear has also been featured in Sports Illustrated and WWD. When she’s not busy sewing or traveling for fashion shoots, Fish holds fashion shows to boast new lines. She’s even created a band called Rock da Fish with the Fishettes that play live at all her fashion shows (Fishettes, of course, sporting swimwear along with their cordless mics).

Fish’s suits range from retro and couture to classic and exotic. Her new line, Anne Fanny, features mastectomy swimwear for women who have had breast cancer. She uses textiles from New York and Europe, shopping the smaller mills for the best in quality so that her suits last years without losing their shape or elasticity. Heidi Fish Designer Swimwear caters to every woman, offering custom-fits upon request. Whether she’s fitting a junior or a grandmother of five, Heidi Fish promises quality, comfort and glamour.
