Concert photography is not easy. Whether they are dodging reckless stage divers, fighting their way close to the stage or struggling to find a proper light source, concert photographers are constantly working to create a physical documentation of something they love. In the past few years, the rise of digital photography has given birth to thousands of concert photographers, constantly striving to further the art. Working with some of the strongest local talent, Seattle music journalist and KEXP DJ Hannah Levin will showcase three up and coming concert photographers starting Thursday, August 7 with a show titled “You Say Good-Bye, I Say Hello” at Ballard’s Tigertail. Curated by Levin, the show’s theme brings together representations of goodbyes, rebirths and homecomings with photos taken by Jenny Jimenez, Laura Musselman and Sarah Joann Murphy. The gallery will feature photos of Sleater-Kinney, Mudhoney and Death Cab for Cutie and will be on display through September 30. For eager viewers, a reception will be held at Tigertail this Thursday from 7-10 PM.

Tigertail is located at 704 NW 65th St in Ballard. For more info, check out its website
