songshow.jpgFor about 6 months the Sound staff has been working on a secondary project. We have whispered about it in the hallways; we have emitted exclamations of brief excitement at its progress; and we have even given a few of our readers a peak at this new spin-off of our monthly print publication. But now, at last, we are inviting the entire world to check out The Song Show and revel in the brilliance and beauty of the Northwest’s finest musicians.

Filmed live at the Can Can on the third (or fourth) Thursday of every month, the Song Show features Northwest musicians playing just a few of their favorite songs and answering a few tough questions, as posed by Sound editor Mark Baumgarten. Below you will find truncated versions of two of those interviews from the April installment, as well as a performance by songsmith Eric Miller from the May show.

Stay tuned for clips of performances from Fatal Lucciauno, John Van Deusen (of the Lonely Forest) and Star Anna.

The next Song Show takes place next Thursday, June 18, and will feature RA Scion of Common Market, Kerry Zettel of See Me River and a very special guest. Get there at 7:30 for a good seat; it’s going to be amazing.
