New sights, new sounds; that’s what a road trip is all about. And that’s why a good weekend getaway on our states’ highways and byways is an absolute necessity. In that spirit of adventure, Sound took a handful of up-and-coming Northwest musicians on three unconventional road trips to explore the off-beat bounty of Washington and Oregon. Indie folk-pop band the Pica Beats, innovative emcee GMK and Portland folk songsmiths Horse Feathers brought their favorite road music to share and graciously let Sound’s photographers film the whole escapade. We picked our favorite moments for the print version of Sound, but the rest of the photos, as well as video of each act performing, are included in the links below.
